The American Heart Association has a new partner in its fight against heart disease in women.
Tuesday the group announced the new partnership with Mercy Health Partners for this year's "Go Red for Women" campaign.
Heart disease is the number one killer of women. While it may be hard for women to find time for themselves, recognizing the signs and symptoms of heart disease are not only important, they're life-saving.
"Women have a tendency to take care of their families and not really themselves. This really calls attention to the fact that women need to take care of themselves, know your condition, know your numbers, your cholesterol and your triglycerides and basically take better care of yourself. said Jeffrey Ashin, President of Mercy Health Partners
The "Go Red for Women" campaign has been in place since 2003.
