Students at Austin-East Magnet High School found out just how easy it is to register to vote on Monday.
A Rock the Vote event allowed students who are 18 to register in time for the 2016 Presidential election.
A social studies teacher at the school stressed the importance of getting these students active in the voting process early.
"The decisions that are made now, when they're 18, end up affecting them for the rest of their lives. So, we're trying to teach them that if they go and they vote and they participate in the process, then they have the opportunity to make some real differences in their lives," said teacher Jill Harry.
The event was the first ever concentrated voter-registration drive at Austin-East.
