Hundreds of churches got a sneak peek at a new recovery program in North Knoxville on Tuesday evening.
More than 300 churches were invited to the site of the new 'Celebrate Recovery' program at the old Smithwood School in North Knoxville. It's a 12-step program with biblical comparisons for each step.
The program deals with several issues from drugs and alcohol to co-dependency and many other problems.
One pastor says even if someone stumbles with their recovery they are welcome back.
"If someone were to trip, sadly often times that's part of the journey, so we continue to love them and hold them accountable and help them get back on the tracks right where they got off," said John Gargis, pastor of Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church.
The new Celebrate Recovery location at the Smithwood School on Tazewell Pike will have a meal every Tuesday at 6 p.m. followed by a service at 8 p.m. It's free to attend.
