Coming soon: New places to eat in Knoxville

There will soon be more options for dining out in East Tennessee, with several new restaurants opening up across Knox County.

They include First Watch in Turkey Creek, which will start serving customers next week. The breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant offers crepes, gourmet waffles, fruits and more.

"Everything's made here in house, which is much different than most restaurants today. Most restaurants everything is imported in. It's going back to grass roots, the type of food you'd have around your dinner table and the atmosphere you try to get at home," saidi James Geib, CEO of Capstone Concepts.

This is First Watch's first restaurant in East Tennessee. It also has a location in Nashville. The restaurant opens on Monday, October 21st.

Diners will get another option when two new Chipotle restaurants open up. The Mexican food chain says the new store at Cedar Bluff Road and Peters Road in West Knoxville will open early next year. The Chipotle in Turkey Creek should be open by the end of the month. Right now, our area's only Chipotle restaurant is on the Cumberland Avenue Strip near UT Campus.

Tennessee-based Farmers Family Restaurant is coming to West Knoxville. According to the company's Facebook page, it's building a restaurant on Kingston Pike by the Rush near West Town Mall. The restaurant cooks up a fresh country buffet -- including chicken, meatloaf and all the sides. Farmers Family Restaurant has two other locations in Columbia and Murfreesboro.

For folks with a sweet tooth, the sign is now up at the Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop near the new Anthropologie store in Bearden. The shop is a nitrogen ice cream franchise that also specializes in pies, desserts and other sweets. Owners are shooting for an October opening, according to their Facebook page.
