Community holds vigil for train crash victims

Community members gathered at Harriman High School Wednesday night to honor the victims who died or were injured when a train and car collided last Friday.

The crash killed Roderick Drummond and Jadah Gallaher. Jadah's brother Darius Gallaher is in serious condition at UT Medical Center. Hunter Cass has improved to fair condition.

This community-wide prayer service offered hope for all families involved. Friends, family and others gathered for an opening prayer. They say it's important to come together in these hard times.

"You can feel the sincerity of the people, in the midst of just being ripped apart, torn under-- we're getting some strength from just coming together, and God's people normally when they come together will find strength. We can feed off one another," said Jesse Williams Sr., pastor at St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church.

Organizers say they were pleased to see how many people showed up to support the victims.
