Knoxville City Council member Nick Della Volpe announced plans for a community meeting Monday over the recent purchase of the Knoxville Center Mall.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at New Harvest Park.
The mall was sold for $10.1 million to Knoxville Partners, LLC in August, and the company said it wanted to turn the space into a "thriving retail and residential hub" for the area.
The company said it wants public input on what to redevelop the mall into and will have representatives at the meeting to answer questions.
Knoxville Partners, LLC said it will be working with two companies to redevelop the mall, including Knoxville-based Henry & Wallace.
The mall opened in 1984 as East Towne Mall. Simon Properties owned, managed and operated the mall until 2014. Simon turned it over to WP Glimcher in 2014 but continued to manage it.
