Crews are wrapping up construction on a mile-long stretch of Parkside Drive in West Knox County.
The modifications are widening the stretch between Cedar Bluff Road and Pellissippi Parkway into four lanes with a middle turn lane.
The area has been known for crashes, and county leaders are hopeful widening the road will reduce the risk.
Crews began paving driveways and placing sod along the road this week. They plan to pave the main line at night starting next week.
The construction began in 2015. Knox County hopes to have the project complete in the next two weeks.
