KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - State Sen. Becky Massey has been selected as a leadership fellow by the Council of State Governments.
Massey, a Knoxville Republican, is one of 48 Toll Fellows from 35 states and Puerto Rico selected by a nine-member committee of state leaders.
State Senate Majority Leader Mark Norris, a Collierville Republican, is the Council of State Governments' national chairman and was a 2002 Toll fellow.
The six-day program is named after Henry Wolcott Toll, the founder of the Council of State Governments. It features a series of speakers and sessions aimed at stimulating personal assessment and growth. Past topics have included sessions on media training, crisis management and adaptive leadership.
Massey, the sister of U.S. Rep. John "Jimmy" Duncan Jr., was elected to the state Senate in 2011.
