After decades of construction, the Missing Link on the Foothills Parkway is near completion. This week, the Great Smokies Mountains will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the beginning of the final project.
The path will run from Walland to Wears Valley, spanning across portions of Blount and Sevier counties. Officials say this project will be the “capstone” of the 16-mile scenic road.
The occasion is scheduled to take place Thursday at 2 p.m.
