Crews have started demolishing part of an old Knoxville high school that closed decades ago.
The Knox County Mayor’s Office said it is tearing down the football stadium at Rule High School following some issues with vandalism and structural stability. Workers have been taking down the bleachers and the track this week.
The Mayor’s office says the field will be re-seeded and a security fence will be installed after the demolition.
Rule High School in Northwest Knoxville closed in 1991 due to low enrollment.
