600 pounds of food leftover from Neyland donated to food bank

Leftover food from Neyland Stadium will provide a big boost for Second Harvest Food Bank.

The University of Tennessee announced it donated more than 600 pounds of food from the Vols' last game against Vanderbilt.

The push to donate surplus food started last year, and in the 2013 season alone, the university gave more than 3,700 pounds to the food bank. The food comes from all the concession stands, and most recently from the skyboxes.

The university is considering expanding its efforts to other catered events and athletic games.
