College guide ranks UT among "best and most interesting"

(WBIR - UT Campus) The University of Tennessee has received a big boost when it comes to recruiting prospective students and winning over their parents.

The Fiske Guide to Colleges looked at 300 universities in the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain. It rated UT among those schools as one of the "best and most interesting."

The 2014 edition said UT's undergrad business program is one of the strongest among public universities.

The guide also praised UT's new buildings and ongoing construction projects, the close proximity to the Smoky Mountains and its location in the heart of Knoxville.

Former New York Times education editor Edward Fiske compiled the college guide and makes an effort to review schools located in the South and Southwestern parts of the U.S.
