Developer wants to turn historic Farragut building into hotel

A California development firm has its eye on restoring an historic downtown Knoxville building.

The City of Knoxville says representatives from the Halo Hospitality Group, based in Sacramento, will be in Knoxville next week to talk about their proposal to to turn the building into a 190-room full-service hotel.

The group will host an open house and tour of the property on Monday, Feb. 24. The group will meet at the East Tennessee History Center at 601 S. Gay St. at 5 p.m., followed by a tour of the hotel's first floor at 5:30. During the tour, they'll answer questions about the proposal.
