(WBIR) Fifteen teams of dedicated anglers didn't let Saturday's rainy weather stop them from helping support a local emergency organization.
The boaters took on the rain in downtown Knoxville for an inaugural fishing tournament benefiting the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad.
SERVPRO of Rocky Hill organized the event which raised around $1,000 for the group.

Co-organizer Kristina Greenway said they chose to help the rescue squad because the volunteers should be recognized for all that they do to help the community.
Greenway said they hope for a better turnout next year to raise even more money for the rescue squad.
