Holiday Inn downtown remains open after small fire

(WBIR-Knoxville) Two floors of a downtown hotel were evacuated when Knoxville firefighters responded to a small fire at the Holiday Inn on Henley Street Saturday morning.

KFD Spokesperson DJ Corcoran told 10News the fire happened in room 805 around 11:00 a.m.

Corcoran said no one was on the 8th floor at the time of the fire.

Both that floor and the 9th were evacuated.

The Holiday Inn has 287 rooms. On Satruday, 107 of them were occupied. Twenty nine total rooms were evacuated.

There were no reported injuries.

The hotel remains open, but rooms on the water-damaged floors are uninhabitable.

Fire investigators have not determined what caused the fire.
