Knoxville looking to upgrade Gay Street

The City of Knoxville wants input on redeveloping part of downtown.

The city is looking at upgrading the 700 block of South Gay Street beginning in 2015.

The block has not been upgraded in 20 years. The streetscapes work estimated at $800,000 would repair sidewalks, plant trees as well as several other improvements.

The city is holding a public meeting at the East Tennessee History Center next Tuesday at 5:30.
