(WBIR) Pat Summitt can add yet another accomplishment to the stack: she won ESPN Radio's Coaches Bracket over Joe Paterno.
It was a tight match-up between the Lady Vols coach emeritus and the Penn State football legend. But in the end, Summitt edged out a win over Paterno with a six percent lead. Voters began casting their picks for the best NCAA coaches on March 11 on SVP & Russillo's Coaches Bracket. Summitt won all six rounds, earning her the title for best coach of all-time.
Summitt is the all-time winningest coach - men or women's - in NCAA basketball history. Her eight NCAA national championships are second-most only to the record 10 titles held by UCLA men's coach John Wooden. She's the only coach in NCAA history, and one of three college coaches overall, with at least 1,000 victories.
The iconic coach has always said of all her accomplishments, she's most proud of her son Tyler, who has followed in his mother's footsteps recently landing his first head coaching job at LA Tech.
A LOOK AT TYLER AND HIS MOM THROUGH THE YEARS
