Road work will affect traffic on UT campus

Road work on the UT campus will close lanes on several roads for the next couple of weeks.

The City of Knoxville will do repaving work on campus starting Thursday on Melrose Place, Twenty-Second, Twenty-First, Mountcastle, and Nineteenth Streets as well as Lake, Caledonia, and Melrose Avenues. The work is expected to wrap up on July 25.

The section of Melrose Avenue directly in front of Hess Hall will not be affected.

Each road will have one lane open during the repaving. On-street parking will not be available, though staff lots will be accessible.

The city will tow any unattended vehicles left in these areas during the repaving project.

Employees and students who normally park on Caledonia Avenue can park in the G-11 parking garage on Lake Avenue during the road work.
