UT offers dorms to students still waiting on apartments

The University of Tennessee is offering help to hundreds of students who are living in hotels because their  off-campus apartments were not ready when school started.

The 672-unit complex, called The Standard, notified incoming residents that because of construction delays, they would not be able to move into their new apartments until mid-October.

Many frustrated students have been living in hotels ever since, and are even forced to move out for several days during home football game weekends to make room for fans.

Now, the university has offered week-to-week leases in on-campus dorms to interested students. They have 150 beds available for $175 a week, though the university could not specify in which dorms the rooms were available.
