One charged with murder after E. Knoxville stabbing

(WBIR) A Knoxville man has been charged with murder after authorities said he stabbed his friend during an argument in East Knoxville.

KPD said it responded around 1 a.m. Wednesday to the Dewey Roberts Street home of Michael Freeman, 39, after he called 911 and said he stabbed his friend a few blocks over on Linden Avenue.

Officers arrived at Freeman's home and found he had cuts on his hands and was in possession of a knife. He told authorities he had been in an altercation with a friend at 2360 Linden Avenue.

Police then found Dwayne Lattimore, 55, dead in the living room of his Linden Avenue home.

KPD said its investigation indicates the two had been in an argument that escalated into the fatal stabbing.

Freeman has been charged with one count of second degree murder.
