Thirteen new miles of power lines will make electricity more reliable for a growing area.
TVA crews spent Tuesday installing the new transmission lines in east Knox County.
Each one will carry 161-thousand volts of electricity to a substation. From there, the electricity will go to power companies, and then on to homes and businesses.
TVA says the new lines will improve reliability and add increased capacity for the growing area.
"That means as this area continues to grow, we'll already have the infrastructure in place, working with our local power companies to ensure that more industries, more homes can be sited in this area and will already have power available," said TVA spokesman Jim Hopson.
TVA first started mapping out the plan for the project in 2008. Construction started last year.
TVA hopes to have the lines fully operational by next summer.
