Cumberland Co. may face property tax increase for SROs

Cumberland County commissioners may consider a property tax increase to help pay for more school resource officers.

Cumberland County currently has four SROs who patrol the county's eight schools. Leaders want to have an SRO dedicated to each school, but will have to come up with a way to pay for it.

One option could include a slight property tax increase. Commissioners won't consider that until they know the full cost of the program.

The next commission meeting is scheduled for January 21st.
