Fire causes lots of smoke damage inside northeast Knoxville church

(WBIR) Firefighters said a northeast Knoxville church suffered lots of smoke damage after a fire started in its basement Friday morning.

Crews managed to quickly put the fire out inside the Iglesia Cristiana Restauracion church, but there's no word on the extent of the damage.

Someone called 911 at about 6:50 a.m. after they saw smoke coming from the roof of the building at the 4000 block of Oakland Drive.

No word on what started the fire.

Dispatchers said the call came in at about 6:50 a.m. Friday, reporting smoke coming from the roof of the Iglesia Cristiana Restauracion on the 4000 block of Oakland Drive.
