Sarah Moore Greene is going pink

A local school is using their classroom skills to honor one of their teachers.

The students at Sarah Moore Greene Magnet Academy are using their daily curriculum to give back to one of their teachers. 
 
Through surgery, chemo, radiation and prayer, McConnell says she is doing great. 
 
SMGMA students are using their morning newscast, Eagle News Live, to promote breast cancer awareness. 
 
They are selling wristbands to raise money for their Service-Learning project, "Jogging for Janice".
 
"Jogging for Janice" is the school's Komen Knoxville race team. 
 
McConnell says that the support she has been given is amazing. 
 
"The kids will pass me in the hall and some of them will yell out my name, and say 'I love you," said McConnell. "It makes my heat full and, a lot of times, my eyes, too."
 
The goal is to raise $500.
 
The Race for the Cure is Saturday, October 22nd.
