Fulton HS to raise money for scholarship in Zaevion Dobson's honor

Zaevion Dobson's high school is creating a scholarship to honor him

People from across the U.S. and East Tennessee continue to honor the life of Zaevion Dobson by making sure his legacy lives on in the form of a scholarship.

School officials have set up a scholarship fund in his honor. They are also hosting a gala to raise money for the scholarship. The “Maroon and White Affair” will happen on August 6 at Bridgewater Place from 6:30-10:30 p.m.

School officials hope to raise $60,000 at the event so it will maintain itself forever. The scholarship will be $2,400 every year for a deserving Fulton student.

The Fulton High School teen shielded three girls from gunfire in an apparently random shooting Dec. 17 in the Lonsdale neighborhood. He was 15. Even President Obama lauded his heroism.
