Greenback house fire displaces 2 adults, 5 children

Two adults and five children are displaced after a fire consumed their home in Greenback Tuesday night.

The fire broke out shortly before 7 p.m. at a home in the 5000 block of Highway 411.

Greenback Fire Chief Ronnie Lett said the fire "went from one end of the house to the other."

The fire was mostly under control, but crews were still working to put out hot spots around 9 p.m., Lett said.

The Red Cross was on scene assisting the residents.

Lett said the cause of the fire is still under investigation. The Friendsville Fire Department assisted with the fire.
