Four teens tied to a murder investigation in Greene County will remain behind bars. The teens arrived at a juvenile detention center in Johnson City Tuesday night and appeared in juvenile court Friday.
The judge ruled that all of the teens should remain in custody for now.
Investigators did not reveal a motive for the crime.
Four Greene County teenagers captured in South Carolina last week will not fight extradition back to Tennessee to face charges related to the murder of one of their dads.
On Thursday, deputies with the Newberry County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina caught 16-year-old Zack Blanchard, along with three other teen suspects: 15-year-old Liam Lawler 15-year-old Daniel Richards-Birchfield and 16-year-old Shelby Riley.
Blanchard is charged with first degree murder in the death of his father, Robert Blanchard. The other three teens face accessory after the fact to murder charges, and all four face theft charges.
On Monday afternoon, the four teens appeared in a South Carolina juvenile court. They wavied an extradition hearing. The Newberry County Sheriff's Office says in a news release that officials there will be working with Tennessee authorities to arrange the return of the suspects.
