Hearing set for judge in 'Messiah' baby case

The judicial board has set a hearing for Judge Lu Ann Ballew, a Cocke County judge who ordered a couple to change their baby's name from Messiah.

They're accusing her of violating the judicial code of conduct.

Ballew ordered the parents of "Messiah Deshawn Martin" to change his first name. She told 10News Messiah is a title fitting only Jesus Christ.

The board says Ballew was biased in her decision. She has responded to the citation and said she didn't violate the code of conduct.

The hearing is set for March 3.
