The average date of the first freeze is Nov. 3, and the average first snowfall occurs on Jan. 5.
The biggest total we would typically see from any single snowfall event would be 2.9 inches.
On average, we see slightly more than 6 inches of snow in any given year in Knoxville.
The average last day that we see snow is Feb. 19, and our last freeze typically occurs by April 6.
