KARM serves Thanksgiving dinner to more than 1,000

Nov. 24, 2016: Knox Area Rescue Ministries served more than 1,000 meals on Thanksgiving.

Knox Area Rescue Missions served more than 1,000 meals on Thanksgiving day.

KARM has put the dinner together for 35 years.

It takes 135 volunteers to pull it off each year, including some members of the Rothchild Catering staff. Volunteers from the business woke up early this morning to prepare ham and sides for the meal.

This year, KARM's dinner had one new feature. The charity partnered with U.S. Cellular to provide free internet and cell phones to people who wanted to connect with family.
