KCSO identifies man who accidently shot himself

Update on Nov. 7: The Knox County Sheriff's Office released the name of the Knoxville man who authorities believe accidently shot himself.

KCSO said Monday that Robert Hutton, 27, shot himself on the 6500 block of Archer Road around 5:25 p.m. Friday.

KCSO's Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

Original Story on Nov. 4: A man is dead after officers believe he accidentally shot himself in East Knox County Friday, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

Officers were called to the 6500 block of Archer Road around 5:25 p.m. 

KCSO said a man had been target shooting, and they believe he accidentally shot himself once. 

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to the Regional Forensics Center for examination. 

His name has not been released.
