KCSO: Motorcyclist killed in Northwest Knox County crash

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash Wednesday night near Oak Ridge Highway.

A man driving a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle collided with a Hyundai going in the opposite direction around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to KCSO.

KCSO said the motorcyclist turned left from Oak Ridge Highway onto Byington Solway after the collision. The Honda Gold Wing slid into the Hyundai causing it to spin around a clip a Toyota 4Runner, which was stopped at a stop sign.

Authorities transported the motorcyclist to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he died.

KCSO said no one else was injured.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and the other drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to KCSO.

Authorities will not identify the driver of the motorcycle until his family is notified.
