Roane County prosecutors want an accused murderer back behind bars, but their request has stalled.
Shawn Smoot is charged with first degree murder
in the death of Brooke Morris, his former employee and girlfriend. He is currently living in Knoxville while he awaits his trial.
The District Attorney General's office wants to revoke Smoot's bond after a judge granted an order of protection against him. A woman in Knoxville filed the request in November, accusing Smoot of harassing and stalking her.
The DAG's office filed a bond revocation request in November but the woman who filed the order of protection doesn't want to testify, so the hearing hasn't been held.
