Six months into operation, the Roane County Boys and Girls Club says it is a success.
The Roane County club found a home in Harriman a year ago but officially opened up to kids this January.
Kids who visit the club can play and get a healthy meal.
Roane County kids can also learn lessons about character.
"We've seen a lot of improved leadership skills, a lot of improved team work, and they just a have a great time here. Parents are excited too. When school ended, we opened up an all-day program and expanded to a few other age groups. And parents are just ecstatic to have a place where their kids can go hang out for 5 days a week," says Chief Volunteer Officer Mike Dishman.
