Knox Co. School budget, charter academy set for vote tonight

(WBIR) The Knox County Board of Education is expected to finalize next year's spending plan Wednesday night.

The county commission approved about $424.5 million in school funding, which is about $7.5 million less than what the district requested. Wednesday night, school leaders are supposed to vote on what to cut from the budget.

Board members are also scheduled to vote on a new charter school for Knox County and a 30-minute extended school day at Vine Middle.

We'll have school coverage on 10News at 5 and 6.
