KPD arrests 19 in prostitution operation

(WBIR-Knoxville) The Knoxville Police Department said officers arrested 19 people following a prostitution operation spanning from Thursday through early Saturday morning.

According to Lt. Keith DeBow, officers received numerous complaints of prostitution and other criminal activity in the area of Central St. and Broadway.

KPD launched several operations at different times of the day, targeting prostitutes who were soliciting, and those patronizing prostitution. DeBow said officers pose as prostitutes and customers in the operations, which are planned to continue through summer in the area and others throughout the city.

In the first roundup, a total of 8 men were charged with patronizing prostitution and 11 people were charged for soliciting prostitution.

Diedra Walker 43, of North Knoxville (Charged with 2 counts of prostitution and 1count of promoting prostitution)

Angie Nichols 43, of Maryville (also charged with Possession of drug paraphernalia)

Yolanda McKenzy 58, of East Knoxville

Josephine Collwell 39, of North Knoxville

Victoria Stafford 47, West Knoxville

Reanna Willhite 29, of South Knoxville
