KPD: Man shot in northeast Knoxville expected to be okay

Update 11:20 am:

(WBIR)Knoxville police said a man shot over the weekend in northeast Knoxville should be okay.

Crews took Brennan Nicholas, 19, to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The shooting happened on the 4300 block of Ivy Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. When police arrived, they found the 19-year-old near the intersection of Jamey Street and Ivy Avenue. The police department said Nicholas has been uncooperative with investigators.

Witnesses told police they overheard two people fighting before several gunshots were fired.

Knoxville police transported a victim with an unknown number of gunshot wounds to the hospital after an overnight shooting.

At approximately 12:50 a.m. Saturday morning officers responded to the 4300 block of Ivy Avenue regarding a shooting incident.

When they arrived, officers located a 19-year-old male victim shot near the intersection of Jamey Street and Ivy Avenue.

According to police, the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
