Kroger donates school supplies to Teacher Supply Depot

Every Kroger location in Knox County donated school supplies to the Teacher Supply Depot Tuesday.

The Teacher Supply Depot allows Knox County Teachers to shop free for donated school supplies at least four times per school year.

In the last three months, all 11 stores collected supplies through customer and employee donations. Scott Bacon, with Knox County Schools, said the supplies are coming at a great time.

"The Knoxville community is so generous to us," said Bacon. "These were individuals who did this. Kroger made it available to their customers, but individual shoppers made this happen, and we are so appreciative that they stepped up to do this for our teachers."

The donations will be available to all Knox County teachers. The Teacher Supply Depot is located on the second floor of the former Cedar Bluff Intermediate School in west Knoxville.
