UT LIFESTAR responds to motorcycle crash in Monroe County

MONROE COUNTY (WBIR) - Authorities in Monroe County responded to a DUI motorcycle crash off Highway 68.

Two Monroe County deputies were sitting at the nearby intersection of the highway and Reagan Valley Road when a pick-up truck and motorcycle collided. Deputies said Jacady Terry,  the driver of the motorcycle,  didn't stop at a stop sign before turning right and colliding with the right side of the truck.

Deputies said Jacady Terry,  the driver of the motorcycle,  didn't stop at a stop sign before turning right and colliding with the right side of the truck. 

Authorities said Terry was driving under the influence and also in possession of schedule II drugs. Monroe County authorities handed  the investigation over the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

A UT LIFESTAR helicopter was sent to the scene to help Terry. He suffered a serious leg and back injury, but authorities believe it wasn't life-threatening.  He wasn't wearing a helmet and authorities cited him as a habitual motor vehicle offender.

The driver and passenger of the the truck were not hurt.
