Man convicted for dealing heroin in overdose death

A judge sentenced a heroin dealer to 11 years in prison for providing the drug to a man who died after overdosing

A judge sentenced a heroin dealer to 11 years in prison for providing the drug to a man who died after overdosing.

23-year-old Paxton Levont Everett was convicted if facilitation of second-degree murder and the sale of heroin after Everett's attorney reached an agreement.

Police arrested Everett back in January after responding to a heroin overdose death of a 24-year-old man. Investigators discovered Everett had sold a gram of the drug to the person after talking with the victim's girlfriend.

The victim ingested the heroin at Everett's apartment where he later died. Knox County medical examiners determined overdose caused the death.
