Cherokee dancer & historian killed in accident

An electrocution accident has claimed the life of a popular Cherokee dancer.

The accident happened in Etowah on Monday.

A McMinn County Sheriff's Office report shows Scott Crisp and a friend were working on wiring in Crisp's catering truck when Crisp was shocked.

His friend kicked the wires away, called 9-1-1, and started C.P.R. Crisp died after being taken to a nearby hospital.

Crisp took part in Cherokee heritage events across the Southeast, serving as a traditional dancer, storyteller, and historian.
