State contractor indicted for statutory rape

A woman contracted by the state to give counseling to kids has been indicted for having sex with a minor she was assigned to help in Monroe County.

According to TBI, 29-year-old Knoxville resident Jamie Tesoro turned herself in after a grand jury indicted her on six counts of statutory rape.

Tesoro was working for Health Connect America, a company that contracts with various state departments to provide services to kids.

She began a 5-month sexual relationship with a minor she was assigned to counsel through the Monroe County juvenile probation office.

Tesoro has bonded out of jail.
