Nashville State Community College is pleased to announce the introduction of the MyCAA program – a program that provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance for military spouses who are pursuing degree programs, licenses or credentials leading to employment in Portable Career Fields.
Spouses of Department of Defense Active Duty members and federally activated members of the National Guard and Reserve Components are eligible for the MyCAA program. MyCAA Financial Assistance pays for education and training programs, and licensing/credentialing fees. Through a partnership with ed2go, eligible military spouses can enroll in online career training programs with Nashville State Community College through the Department of Workforce & Community Development.
Well-crafted lessons, expert online instruction and interaction with the instructor and other students will allow military spouses to gain valuable knowledge at their convenience. In-demand programs include pharmacy technician, medical transcriptionist, certified wedding planner, administrative professional with Microsoft Office specialist and many more. The programs can be accessed 24/7 from anywhere with an Internet connection.
Upon acceptance into the MyCAA program, military spouses can begin their career training program anytime. Programs are generally six months and many offer an extension period if necessary. Check individual programs for internship or externship opportunities.
