Deputies in Monroe County found $35,000 of what they believe was drug money during a traffic stop on Tuesday night.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office interdiction team conducted a traffic stop on I-75. The Sheriff's Office says that the team searched the vehicle after noticing that the driver appeared "very nervous."
The driver gave deputies consent to search his car, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The money is believed to be from the sale of narcotics. It was seized and will go towards the Monroe County Sheriff's Office's drug fund pending the outcome of seizure court.
The Sheriff's Office explained that the drug fund helps pay for salaries, equipment, and drug awareness programs.
