National travel show filming in Sevierville

A National Public Television travel series is filming an episode in Sevierville this week for an episode scheduled to air in the spring of 2017.

The show “Family Travel with Colleen Kelly” will be filming in Sevierville Wednesday through Friday. The episode will be part of the show’s upcoming fourth season.

“We’ve been looking forward to this trip for a while now and couldn’t be more excited to experience all that Sevierville has to offer,” said show host Colleen Kelly. “From the beautiful scenery of the Smoky Mountains to all of the fun things to do and places to eat, we look forward to giving our viewers a behind-the-scenes look at this popular family destination.”

The show caters to families and features travel destinations in the U.S. and abroad. Kelly provides an in-depth look at each area’s outdoor adventure, natural beauty, history, culture, dining shopping and family fun for all ages. She often travels with her husband and two young daughters, who appear in the show.

“We’re honored to have the opportunity to host Colleen’s show and share with a very large audience all that we have to offer and experience here in Sevierville,” said Brenda McCroskey, CEO of the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce. “The upcoming filming of this show only adds to the recent and continued excitement surrounding tourism in our area.”

Some local spots the show will visit in Sevierville are Apple Barn & Cider Mill and Courthouse Donuts.
