No major injuries after Rural/Metro fire truck rollover

(WBIR) A Rural/Metro firetruck slid off the road and flipped over onto its side in North Knox County Wednesday morning.

Jerry Harnish, Rural/Metro Regional Director, said it happened to Engine 230 at the intersection of Andersonville Pike and McCloud Road while heading to a non-emergency assignment around 9 a.m.

Harnish said none of the four firefighters in the truck at the time of the rollover sustained major injuries. All four were taken to the hospital for examination.

He said the fire truck sustained moderate damage. It was the only vehicle involved in the accident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
