Knox Co. commissioner meets court terms, record cleared

(WBIR-Knoxville) A Knox County commissioner's record is clean after meeting all the requirements set after his "no contest" plea.

The Knox County Sessions Court Clerk Office's confirmed Friday that Jeff Ownby completed the conditions of his six-month judicial diversion. Ownby was facing charges after being caught performing oral sex with another man in a public park.

The court ruled that Ownby had to write a public letter of apology, describing his role in the crime at Sharp's Ridge in north Knoxville. He had to submit the letter during a Knox County Commission meeting and send it to the media.

Ownby also had to pay court costs and wasn't allowed within 100 yards of Sharp's Ridge.
