Demonstrators in Oak Ridge protest prolonged shutdown

(WBIR-Oak Ridge) Demonstrators came to Oak Ridge Tuesday morning to protest ongoing gridlock on Capitol Hill.

Organizing for Action Tennessee planned the protest at the Atomic Trades & Labor Council to tell Congress "reopen the government, pay the bills, and get back to work."

Mike Thompson, vice president of the Atomic Trades & Labor Council, said he's concerned about how the shutdown could impact workers at the Y-12 National Security Complex, which will start shutting down its facility Wednesday.

OFA TN said it's a non-partisan group, but lists as its main website.
