Parents of convicted meth maker arrested

The parents of a convicted meth maker are now facing drug charges.

Anderson County authorities arrested 77-year-old William Braden last week outside the Federal Building right after the drug trial for his son wrapped up. Investigators later arrested 68-year-old Betty Jo Braden at their home near Lake City.

A grand jury indicted them after a narcotics investigation.

Their son Jeffery Braden was one of 42 people arrested in March in a three county meth bust.

Since then, the Anderson County sheriff says 38 of the 42 have pleaded guilty, two others signed plea agreements, and one other suspect remains at large.
