KKCO - A Colorado man diagnosed with terminal brain cancer said his dying wish was to meet the man his young baby boy is named after: Peyton Manning.
Aryn Gallegos learned he had stage 4 brain cancer in mid-August. Doctors told him he only has a few weeks to live.
Family members say meeting Manning has always been of goal for Aryn, and now it’s become his final wish.
Since finding out of the diagnoses, thousands of people have shared the family’s story in hopes that it would get to Manning. On Wednesday, that dream came true with the ring of a phone.
"When [Manning] called him he just perked up. He opened his eyes so big, and he was just so happy, he even blew him a kiss,” said Michelle Vicencio, Aryn’s aunt.
The Gallegos family said Aryn had been offered the chance to meet with Manning in Denver but was unable to leave hospice due to deteriorating health.
Aryn still hopes to get a photo with Manning in his final days. It’s a keepsake he wants to leave behind for his son.
